👋 Dear Villagers,
I’m the Minister of Economy, and I know it can be frustrating to see the message:
❌ “Unable to Activate Promotion.”
Don’t panic. This is not a punitive block, but an intelligent measure to ensure the ecosystem’s health and guarantee that every author receives fair and consistent support.
Let’s look at the main reason.
📈 1) Requested Promotions Exceed Completed Assignments by More Than 50%
BookVillage is built on a principle of balance:
✅ First, you contribute to the Village by completing assignments
✅ Then, you receive support for your books by activating promotions
📌 If the system detects that the number of promotions you’re requesting exceeds the number of assignments you’ve completed by more than 50%, it applies a temporary block.
⚖️ Why Can This Happen?
In most cases, the number of completed assignments and activated promotions will be very similar—or even equal.
✅ This happens because the system automatically balances contributions and benefits.
📌 However, our algorithm assigns different weights to each type of assignment and promotion.
Example:
👉 If you reserve assignments of the Verified Purchase $2.99 type (which carry a high weight)
👉 But you only activate promotions of the Standard Unverified type (which carry a lower weight)
➡️ You may end up in a situation where the number of promotions you can activate exceeds the number of assignments you’ve reserved.
But be careful:
📌 If the number of promotions activated exceeds completed assignments by 50%, the system will temporarily block the activation of new promotions—even if, in theory, you should still be able to activate a few more.
✅ How to Rebalance the Situation?
📢 The good news: this block is immediately lifted as soon as you:
✅ Reserve new assignments
✅ Or activate promotions of a higher-value type (e.g., Verified Purchase, Kindle Unlimited)
💡 Doing this restores the assignments/promotions ratio within Village parameters, unlocking the ability to activate new campaigns.
💡 Village Tip
To avoid these imbalances, BookVillage recommends using assignment and promotion types that are as similar as possible.
📌 This keeps the system perfectly balanced, allowing you to continue contributing and receiving without interruptions.
📢 A Word From the Minister of Economy
"In the Village, balance means strength. A steady flow of contributions and benefits is the key to a healthy community and a system that never stops."
